Earn Cash For Baby-Sitting!
Kol Chai Reform Synagogue organises a formal Baby-Sitting Training Course for all those 14 years and above who would like to know more information on child care and child safety in order to advertise themselves as ‘accredited’ baby-sitters.
The course will run on two Sunday afternoons in September and will cover such topics as
- Basic First Aid – what to do in an emergency
- Keeping safe
- Child protection issues
- Allergy awareness
- Play skills
- Story telling
- How to deal with difficult behaviour
- Making difficult decisions – is that TV programme really suitable for children in your care?
- What your employer can reasonably expect of you and ….
- What you can expect of them
- What you need to know before you allow the parents out!
The course will include talks by a local Paediatrician and Child Specialist. handouts, videos and some role playing. At the end of the course participants will be given a Kol Chai Baby Sitter’s Handbook and a Certificate naming them as a “Kol Chai Approved” Baby Sitter. After that participants can add their name to the Kol Chai Baby-Sitting Circle and start earning that money!
